| Vulnerable Population | All Population Groups | Thematic Focus 1: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene This program is tailored towards increasing access to water for domestic and livelihoods support in the arid and semi-arid lands, improving quality and enhancing accountability. Focus is on sustainable water harvesting, distribution and utilization both for human and livestock. Improved access and quality of water means improved sanitation facilities accompanied by education and public awareness. This has the potential to reduce significantly the impact of water and sanitation borne diseases, which is one of the greatest threat in the county. | Thematic Focus 2: Peace and Governance The focus is on facilitating using local community justice and peace systems and processes in addressing outstanding inter-community conflicts and promoting peaceful co-existence. Similarly basic justice, democracy, conflict resolution, and transformation, and ultimately good governance and leadership in the county are key to the greater impact on the social and economic activities of the communities we work with. Focus on civic education and key stakeholder in community development, peace and stability in the region. Partnering with others to invest in public meetings organized by the traditional councils and peace committees (DPCs), facilitate peace caravans, facilitate exchange visits among warring communities, support local community peace animators with their outreach programmes, and sponsor schools sport tournaments that reinforce the need for peace.
